"BILLY BOY" BELL HOP VINTAGE WIND-UP TOY. Celluloid & tin. JAPAN 1950s

Found at a local estate sale and up for sale here is a neat little wind-up toy!  Know as "Billy Boy" this busy little porter has his hands painted on a world travelled trunk, and with a few turns of the key, he bolts along on the 3 wheeled trunk.  His legs are made to be kicking as he scoots propelled along by a small tin protrusion from the trunk.. the very essence of "Express" speed as is marked on the top of the trunk.                      This little red uniformed porter measures 3 inches tall and the trunk measures 2 3/4 inches x 1  1/2 inches.  He is made of celluloid and tin and the trunk is tin, marked with stickers from all over the world. He was made in Japan in the 1950s..         The key was with him, but I am not sure if it is the original key or not..         there is some general age related wear, Billys celluloid nose is slightly indented upon close examination.. it is in as found condition and winds up and works very well..                   please check out my photos and email me if you have any questions.         Thanks.
